Rinascita Cristiana

Rinascita Cristiana was founded in Italy during the war years with Marchesa Immacolata Salviati at the helm. Through the initiative of Mgr. Montini, later Pope Paul VI, Rinascita Cristiana joined forces with the Apostolate for the Independent Social Millieux founded in 1940 by Mlle. Marie-Louise Monet. This brought about the foundation of the International Apostolic Movement of the Independent Social Milieux (M.I.A.M.S.I.), which today has 40 member countries in the four continents.

The movement aims at making its members conscious of their responsibilities in the Church and helping them in their efforts to make the message of the Gospel known to our modern society, so as to promote a human society permeated by the Love of God and one’s neighbour.

The movement is formed of groups each having not more than 10 members; each group meets every fortnight and after about half an hour’s meditation on the Word of God in the Gospel, discusses a topic from the daily events of their own lives and those of their friends. A different topic is chosen for each year and is studied according to the method of SEE, JUDGE and ACT.

Rinascita Cristiana Malta was founded in 1970 and at present consists of 8 groups, with a coordinating Council which meets at least 3 times a year. Rinascita Cristiana Malta is represented in the European Relais of M.I.A.M.S.I. which takes place every six months and on 1996 was held in Malta and was a great success. In October 1996 the President and Secretary took part in the World Assembly in Mexico. M.I.A.M.S.I. is recognised by U.N.O. as N.G.O. with consultative status to E.C.O. S.O.C.

In October 2003 Rinascita Cristiana Malta was represented at the European Relais of M.I.A.M.S.I. in Lisbon, Portugal, by the Noble Jane Testaferrata Moroni Viani.National Ecclesiastic Assistant
